Suzuki Ecstar rider starts the last weekend with good feeling and significant improvement in his times throughout the day.

Álex Rins returns to the scene of his first kilometres in the premier class this weekend. The day in Valencia featured sun and cold temperatures in FP1, in which Rins was 20th.

In the afternoon, with the asphalt hotter, the the Suzuki Ecstar rider’s feeling quickly improved. The changes made after the morning session had their effect, as Rins was able to lower the time he had set in the morning by nine tenths and also improve his race pace. Finally, his best time of 1:31.876 allowed him to place 15th, 1.2 seconds behind the leaders.

Rins will try to continue improving the setup of his Suzuki at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo on Saturday and gain access to Q2.

Álex Rins

“Today, in the morning, things went quite well. Even if we couldn’t complete a very fast lap, our race pace is not so bad. Tomorrow we will look for a best lap to enter directly in Q2. We have to try more the winglets for tomorrow because today we hardly ever used them. We have margin to improve and so many details to refine like reducing the wheelie or braking stability.”
