The MotorLand circuit was hit by rain on the first day of action at the Aragon GP. The mixed conditions of the asphalt did not allow Álex Rins to put in too many laps, nor draw useful conclusions from the accumulated kilometres. Fortunately for the Spaniard, the forecast for the rest of the weekend is dry.

Rainfall affected proceedings all day, providing conditions that were neither completely dry nor completely wet. This meant that Rins was unable to make conclusive tests for the setup of the Suzuki GSX-RR. Despite this, he managed to progress in the afternoon with respect to FP1, lowering his best time by more than 2.5 seconds.

Tomorrow, Rins will ride in FP3 and FP4, before the decisive Q1 session.

Álex Rins

“This morning didn’t go too well; there was no grip. In the afternoon it went much better, with a good feeling for me and a strong pace with a base setup. At the end of the session the track was quite dry in some areas, while at four corners it was totally wet. I think we have a lot of information from these sessions to help us improve tomorrow. It was a good day, but the result did not reflect it.”
