The Suzuki Ecstar rider completes a brilliant day in which he was solid both in terms of race pace and over a single lap.

Álex Rins consolidated the good feeling he had on Friday at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo with a positive Saturday. With sunny conditions for the riders once again, Rins gained direct access to Q2 thanks to a great final stint in FP3, in which he has set a 1:30.846 lap that allowed him to finish the sessopm in fifth position.

In the afternoon, and with higher temperatures on track, the Spaniard showed a good race pace in FP4, in which he finished in eleventh position with a best time of 1:31.695. The perseverance shown by the Suzuki rider allows him to face the last race of 2017 with optimism.

In Q2, Rins put in a solid performance, finishing the day inside the top ten and with high expectations for the race. The Valencian GP will start at 2:00pm on Sunday.

“It’s been a very positive weekend. I’m very happy with the work during FP3 and FP4. We achieved the first goal, to get into the Q2, and the next goal will be to finish at least in the Top 10. Now we have to check which the best tyre to use for the race is. It will depend on the track temperature.”
